You might have heard of her. And by might, I mean, there’s a chance you may have stumbled upon a couple of her tracks in the past couple of years that were playing on pop radio rotation. “IIIIIIIIIII WANNNNA FLYYYYYY,” like a somethin’ somethin’. And well, that’s not knocking her. But, it’s also safe to say, she’s flown pretty under the radar for some years.
At 40, yes 40, Sia has managed to remain very.... very low key, while making a uh, very HIGH key salary. She’s written for the best... The best including, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Rihanna, and Maroon 5, including many, many more. And even now, she chooses to hide her face in most performances.
Her latest release, “This is Acting” features the tracks that those artists well, said no to. The rejects... Or well, Rhejects... Get it... Only one song on the entire record was originally written for herself. Which hey, is an interesting concept indeed.
"Cheap Thrills" was passed up on by Rihanna for her latest album, ANTI. She told Rolling Stone Magazine that "I realized just as soon as I was cutting it that it sounded a little bit too Brit-pop for her. It's more Icona Pop."
